Fertilizer / NPK Fertilizers
NPK Fertilizers
In order to have products of good quality and nutritional value, it is necessary to provide plants with nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and the micronutrients, which have an increasing importance. The absence of at least one of these elements disrupts normal plant growth and development. Different plant species require different quantity of macro and micro elements. Proper adjustment of fertilization system make the plant yield higher and the quality better; plants become more resistant to diseases and pests, endure the unfavorable natural conditions easier (such as cold, drought). Only good fertilizer and the proper selection of plant protection measures will help you achieve maximum results in your fields.
Nitrogen is a basic nutrient for the plant nutrition. While improving the nutrition with nitrogen, the leaves of the plant grow large, they turn into bottle- green and gain the prolonged period of their vegetation. Leaves of the plant lacking the nitrogen become small, of the colour that is pea- green turning into yellow and demonstrating accelerated maturity.
Phosphorus is one of the main food nutrients. Physiological role of phosphorus in life and development of the plant is extremely high. Phosphorus takes part in the synthesis of carbohydrates as well as in the process of sugar accumulation. Various combinations with phosphorus comprise the enzymes and coenzymes of the cell nucleus. Intense lack of phosphorus causes the improper development and poor growth of the plants, their leaves get twisted, the tissues die and the stems acquire purple tones.
Plants are very sensitive to the lack of phosphorus at the beginning of their vegetation. In a case plants get inefficient amount of phosphorus from soil, their new leaves take it from the old ones. The plants having matured, the phosphorus accumulates in their seeds thus there is small amount of phosphorus left in the vegetative parts.
Potassium can not be replaced by other nutrition elements. In a case there is a lack of potassium the plant leaves accumulate the mineral nitrogen that has not been processed into organic combinations. Plants lacking potassium become not resistant to droughts, they wither away earlier, the normal metabolism processes fall into disarray and the crop usually get smaller. Besides, potassium decreases the transpiration of water. When the amount of potassium is sufficient, the chlorophyll of the plant better transfers the energy of the sun. Potassium makes the positive impact not only on the assimilation but on sugar transportation, as well. Having been substantially fertilized with the ammonia nitrogen the plants necessarily need potassium as ammonia nitrogen is instantly used for the synthesis of amino acids thus escaping the formation of harmful concentration of NH4+ ions.
Potassium is one of the most significant cations in the plant physiology, which forms the tissues of the plants as well as makes influence on the physiological and biochemical functions. One of the major characteristics of potassium is its penetration into plant tissues. This is determined by the property of membranes frequently transmitting the potassium ions. Therefore, potassium distinguishes by exceptional properties that are vital for various physiological processes, i.e. for the growth of meristem, water regime and photosynthesis.
Sulphur is a constituent of the amino acids entering the composition of proteins and some enzymes of the plant. It is of vital importance for the plants alongside with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. In a case there is a lack of sulphur, the photosynthesis decreases up to 40 per cent and the evidences of the plant starvation look like in the cases of shortages of nitrogen (the leaves turned yellow). Sulphur enters the plants mostly in a form of oxides (sulphates). Plants can absorb it from the atmosphere in a form of sulphur anhydride up to 30 per cent. At present, with a pollution having decreased, the amount of sulphur with precipitation has decreased as well.
